The Canadian group FINNING INTERNATIONAL (turnover of USD 2.2 billion in 1999 with 5.000 employees) launched an offer of GBP 322 million in cash for the British HEWDEN STUART (rental of machines and tools; quarterly turnover of GBP 135.2 million for the 2000 financial year).
