The electronics groups SONY EUROPE (Japanese group SONY) and TMM - THOMSON MULTIMEDIA both took a 3% stake in the capital of CANAL+ TECHNOLOGIES (turnover of EUR 6.7 million in 1999), specialised subsidiary of the pay-television channel CANAL+. The value of the transaction has not been disclosed, but each of the partners will have to pay EUR 40 million, according to banking sources.
