Discussions between Fifteen make no progress concerning "first come-first served" system - Agriculture Council to tackle issue on 19 December

Brussels, 30/11/2000 (Agence Europe) - Bananas will not be on the menu of the General Council on Monday, and will probably not be on the agenda of the ministerial discussions before 19 December, when the next Agriculture session takes place. The work on a transitional quota solution of the "first come-first served" kind continues for now without tangible results at the level of the European experts and in the context of almost incessant consultation with the trading partners concerned.
