ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) nuclear instrumentation

The French COGEMA, European leader in nuclear equipment, acquired the American company CANBERRA (annual turnover of USD 110 million with 650 employees) from PACKARD BIOSCIENCES COMPANY, for EUR 200 million. This company is specialised in the manufacturing of machines and systems to measure ionising radiation. Thanks to this operation, the consolidated turnover of the whole "nuclear measurements" unit of COGEMA should be located around EUR 210 million in 2001.
