Commission decides to take action against five Member States for failure to comply with European directive on sewage sludge

Brussels, 14/11/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to initiate infringement proceedings against five Member States which do not comply with the Community legislation on sewage sludge (Directive 86/278/EEC relating to the protection of the environment and soil in particular, during the use of sewage sludge in agriculture).
