ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) leasing

The American hotel chain CENDANT has agreed to pay $935 million ($33 a share) to buy the remaining shares in the American car hire company AVIS HOLDNG GROUP ($3.3 bn annual turnover) that it still does not own, or 82%. After the transaction, AVIS will become a subsidiary of CENDANT.
