Brussels, 14/11/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commissioners Erkki Liikanen and Pascal Lamy will take part in the annual conference of the Transatlantic Business Dialogue (TABD) that will take place in Cincinnati, from the 16 to 18 November. This event, precious for the improvement of trade relations between the EU and the United States, gathers together the heads of industry and governmental representatives in view of formulating recommendations for the EU/United States summit on 18 December and to assess the progress achieved in the face of obstacles that continue to weigh on transatlantic trade. The American administration will be represented by Mr Summers and Mr Eizenstat (Treasury) as well as by Mr Essermann (trade). A delegation from the European Parliament and the United States Congress are also expected. Among the themes that will be broached are: the digital economy, the new round of WTO trade negotiations, Euro-American disputes, mutual recognition, taxation, etc.
