Infringement proceedings continue against Portugal and Spain for failure to comply with Habitats Directive

Brussels, 14/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Commission decided to continue with its infringement proceedings against Portugal and Spain which continue in their failure to fully comply with the demands of the Habitats Directive (Council Directive 92/43/EEC concerning the conservation of natural habitats as well as wild fauna and flora). These two Member States will each receive a reasoned opinion (second stage of the procedure) under Article 226 of the Treaty, for the following...
