European Commission adopts new guidelines for funding earmarked for promoting innovation in regions - 400 million euro over 7 years

Brussels, 14/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has adopted new guidelines, valid for the period from 2000 to 2006, aimed at funding the promotion of innovation in the regions of the EU. The Structural Funds have 400 million euro to support "innovative actions" in the less competitive regions. The aim of the projects must be in harmony with the conclusions of the Lisbon Summit on the Europe of knowledge, contributing in reducing the "innovation deficit" of the regions lagging...
