ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) energy

The Belgian TRACTABEL (French group SUEZ LYONNAISE DES EAUX) announced the acquisition of the American company CABOT LNG (turnover of USD 265 million in 1999 with a workforce of 86 people) for USD 680 million. Subsidiary of the chemicals group CABOT CORP, CABOT LNG is the only importer/distributor of liquefied natural gas active on the east coast of the United States.
