Brussels, 13/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament's Legal Affairs Committee, chaired by Ana Palacio (EPP, Spain) adopted by 18 votes for, 10 against and 4 abstentions, the draft opinion by the German Social Democrat Willi Rothley on the recommendation from the group Eminent Persons on the statute of MEP (see EUROPE of 7 June, p.15).
