Brussels, 13/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - In an interview granted to the Italian daily La Repubblica, British Prime Minister Tony Blair refused any rush regarding his country's accession to the single currency. "We shall take the decision at the beginning of the next legislature (in 2002: Ed.)", he declared, before stipulating: "We are in principle in favour of joining the euro, but we first want to make sure that joining up is in the national interest."
