Leinen calls on French Presidency to add European political parties to IGC agenda

Brussels, 13/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - German Social Democrat Jo Leinen welcomed the decision by the European Commission to propose, as the EP had requested, the inclusion on the agenda of the Intergovernmental Conference, of revision of Article 191 of the EC Treaty for the creation of a statute and a funding system for the European political parties (see EUROPE of 13 July, p.5).
