Brussels, 13/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - On behalf of the European Union, the French Presidency issued the following declaration:

"The European Union fully endorses the action taken by the OAS observer mission in drawing the attention of the President of Haiti and the President of the Provisional Electoral Council to a flagrant, crucial error in the method of counting the votes for candidates for election as senators.
