ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) air

The Mexican company MEXICANA AIRLINES is to join the STAR ALLIANCE on 1 July alongside the British company BRITISH MIDLAND. With the partnership between these two companies, STAR ALLIANCE will group 13 airlines with 2,130 aircraft serving more than 815 destinations in over 130 countries. All companies together, STAR ALLIANCE carried, in 1999, 296.4 million passengers for a turnover of $63.12 billion.
