Brussels, 28/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - Chris Patten, EU Commissioner for External Relations, and the Indian Foreign Affairs Minister, Jaswant Singh, signed a Financing Agreement for the "EU-India Civil Aviation Project" in the margins of the EU-India Summit in Lisbon. The Commission agreed on Community funding to the tune of Euro 18 million for the project two years ago (of a total cost of Euro 32 million) (see EUROPE, 14 January 1998).
