Commission suspects Interbrew and Alken-Maes of price agreement

Brussels, 08/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission suspects unlawful behaviour between the Belgian brewery groups, Interbrew and Alken-Maes, which are believed to have price agreements on the Belgian market. It plans to send a statement of objections to the two groups, which control 56% and 20% of the Belgian market respectively, before the summer calling for explanations.
