Frankfurt, 08/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Board of Governors of the European Central Bank decided, this Thursday, to increase its main short-term interest rate, the Refi, raising it from 3.75 to 4.25% (experts expected a more modest increase of only 25 point). The ECB also increase by 50 base points its floor and ceiling rates. Following this increase - the fifth decided by the ECB - the Euro rose to USD 0.9641.
