Council doubles level of anti-dumping duty on Chinese "glyphosate" herbicide

Brussels, 08/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Council doubled the level of anti-dumping duty instituted in February 1998 on imports of glyophosate originating from China. Thus this duty moves from 24 to 48%.

Glyophosate is a herbicide. Three Community producers - Cheminova Agro (Denmark), Monsanto Europe (Belgium) and Zeneca Agrochemicals (United Kingdom) - called for a review of the duty, asserting that its application did not lead to any increase in the sale price for the Chinese product in...
