Prodi to be in region end February - Presidency Declaration on latest attacks against Lebanon

Brussels, 09/02/2000 (Agence Europe) - Answering questions at his press conference on Wednesday (see other article) on the subject of the latest Israeli bombings of Lebanon, European Commission President Romano Prodi announced he would be in Israel and the Palestinian territories at the end of the month, and that he would, on this occasion, "be the European voice on these events".

Furthermore, the Portuguese EU Council Presidency issued the following declaration:
