AOL -AMERICA ONLINE- is negotiating with Germany's BERTELSMANN the acquisition of its 50% share in AOL EUROPE, their Internet service provider owned 50-50 until now and estimated to be worth USD 7 billion. Further, AOL EUROPE has announced an alliance with Finland's NOKIA and Sweden's ERICSSON for the development of a partnership in mobile Internet services (access to Web via a mobile phone using WAP -Wireless Application Protocol- technologies).
