09/02/2000 (Agence Europe) - Former Social Democrat Chancellor Franz Vranitsky announced on Wednesday his resignation as Austria's representative in the Convention charged with drawing up the future EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. He took this decision in protest of the entry of Jörg Haider's party in the government.
