The Swedish-Swiss group ABB has acquired the British electricity distribution company EMEC -EAST MIDLANDS ELECTRICITY CONTRACTING- (annual sales of USD 60 million with a workforce of 500) from EAST MIDLANDS ELECTRICITY, which is itself a subsidiary of the British producer POWERGEN.
