 EU Council is ready to negotiate with European Parliament on revision of annual gas storage target

On Friday, 11 April, the Council of the EU decided on its position concerning the European Commission’s proposal to extend the regulation on gas storage beyond 2025 another two years (see EUROPE B13593A11). Member States’ permanent representatives (‘Coreper’) have thus delivered a mandate to open negotiations with the European Parliament as soon as the latter has adopted its position, which is expected to happen during the plenary session in May.
