Saipem authorized to buy up Bouygues Offshore

Brussels, 03/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has authorized Italy's offshore contractor Saipem to buy up the oil platform construction division of France's Bouygues Construction (Bouygues Offshore). Their activities overlap in both the on and the offshore construction business and in laying submarine pipelines, but the total market share is less than 30%.
