Mr Rasmussen criticises US attitude and says EU could take responsibility for police operation before 1 January 2003

Strasbourg, 03/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday the Danish Presidency declared to the press that the Danish Prime Minister, Anders Foegh Rasmussen was worried about the situation created by the US veto at the UN, which risked provoking an "abrupt interruption" in the peace-keeping force in Bosnia (due to requests for guaranteeing the immunity of its soldiers from possible injunctions by the International Criminal Court in place since 1 July in the Hague).
