Strasbourg, 03/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - After its debate with Wim Duisenberg on Tuesday (see Europe of 3 July, po.8), the European Parliament on Wednesday adopted the report by Piia-Noora Kauppi (EPP-ED, Finland) on the European Central Bank's 2001 Annual Report, congratulating President Duisenberg for his stated intention to restrict the repeated statements by members of the council of Governors that lead to confusion and false hopes on the financial markets.
