Union signs international convention on elimination of persistent organic pollutants, most toxic chemical substances

Brussels, 22/05/2001 (Agence Europe) - Some one hundred and twenty countries, represented for about half by their Environment Ministers, are gathered in Stockholm to sign the International Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs), chemical products created by human activity and highly toxic for health.
