The Finnish banking and insurance company SAMPO has launched a EUR 2.6 billion offer for Norway's largest insurer STOREBRAND following an informal bid by Norway's DEN NORSKE BANK (DNB). SAMPO is planning to pay 75 Norwegian crowns (NOK) per share, valuing the company at NOK 20.8 billion. This is NOK 11 more than DNB's offer, but the latter may benefit from being a Norwegian company.
