22/05/2001 (Agence Europe) - By recently adopting two proposals for decisions, the European Commission called on the Council to authorise it to chose, on behalf of the Community, in favour of the extension of international agreements on sugar and cereals. The convention on sugar must be extended from 1 January 2002 until 31 December 2003, that relating to cereals from 1 July 2001 to 30 June 2003.
