ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) environment

ONYX, the cleaning subsidiary of France's VIVENDI ENVIRONMENT, has taken a majority stake (part cash and part capital increase for an undisclosed amount) of a company specialising in waste processing in Scandinavia and the Czech Republic. ONYX will hold a 65% stake, with the founding owners retaining a 35% stake. The new company will be called MARIUS PEDERSEN ONYX and will have an annual turnover of some EUR 174 million and employ around 2,500 people.
