01/03/2001 (Agence Europe) - Regarding the Trepca Combine affair (see EUROPE of 1 March, p.11), European trade unions specify that investment in this group will be profitable and will allow a return to work of part of the 40,000 employees who worked there before the war. They add that, even if only a limited number of workers - 3,000 according to some sources - are able to resume work, the industrial group could develop a new dynamic that would be beneficial for employment.
