Automobile manufacturer FIAT (annual turnover EUR 4.5 billion) is preparing to sell its subsidiary specialised in car parts, MAGNETTI MARELLI, to several equipment companies. The division for suspension manufacture (annual turnover EUR 700 million) would go to German steel company THYSSEN KRUPP. Bidders for the acquisition of the electronic systems divisions include Americans DELPHI and VISTEON. See EI of 31 January.
