Commission takes measures against 10 Member States

Brussels, 26/02/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to send reasoned opinions to ten Member States for failure to communicate within the required deadlines their national implementing legislation of the directive on the laboratory use of genetically modified micro-organisms (98/81/EC). EUROPE will return to the details tomorrow as to what has led the Commission to pursue a procedure engaged in last August.
