26/02/2001 (Agence Europe) - Passenger air travel in European airports increased 7.9% between 1999 and 2000, to reach the figure of 965 million persons, according to the latest ACI-Europe statistics, representing European airports in Brussels. Freight traffic increased 8% with 12.7 million tonnes. The main airports for passenger transport remain London (64 million passengers in 2000), Frankfurt (49 million), Paris (48 million) and Amsterdam (36 million).
