Opening on 7 March, open debate on future of EU

Brussels, 26/02/2001 (Agence Europe) - The General Affairs Council also discussed on Monday:

The future of Europe: Anna Lindh, indicated that the major debate over the future of Europe will be launched in 7 March and that the candidate countries would be invited to discuss it during the "Gymnich" meeting (5 and 6 May).

EU Common strategies: Javier Solana said he was very pleased that the Council has supported his proposals (see EUROPE of 23 February p.4/5 and 22/23 January...
