According to the Financial Times, seven banks, four Europeans and three Americans, are said to be interested in the activities of the investment bank ING in the United States which the bank-insurance entity wants to get rid of. The daily cites the British bank HSBC, Dutch ABN AMRO and German DRESDNER BANK and DEUTSCHE BANK, as well as American financiers BANK OF AMERICA, BANK ONE and BEAR STERNS.
