Truck manufacturer SCANIA intends to acquire, for the sum of EUR 285 million, all of its importer to the Netherlands and Germany, BEERS NV (turnover EUR 579 million in 1999), of which it already owns 49.9%. SCANIA will offer 46.50 euros per share, the bid remaining valid until 20 December.
