PHILIPS of the Netherlands and South Korean LG ELECTRONICS have announced the creation, early 2001, of a 50-50 joint venture that will be the world's largest maker of television and computer screens, with 25% of market shares. PHILIPS made a turnover of $3 billion in 1999 with 24,000 employed in 12 production sites) and LG $2.2 billion.
