The Japanese mobile phone operator NTT DOCOMO INC is on the verge of acquiring a minority 20% stake in AT&T WIRELESS GROUP. The price of the purchase could exceed $9 bn. In addition, according to the economic daily Nihon Keiza Shimbun, NTT DOCOMO is also considering taking a similar stake in KG TELECOMMUNICATIONS CO (Taiwan) for 60 bn yen.
