The Estonian privatisation agency has approved the sale to British GB RAILWAY of the railway company specialised in passenger transport, EDELARAUDTEE, for the sum of 10 million Estonian crowns (EUR 639,000). GB RAILWAY will increase the capital of the Estonian company by injecting a further 100 million crowns over five years. Estonia, moreover, intends to privatise its national railway company, ESTONIAN RAILWAY, which owns the rail network. The latter is coveted by Swedish and UK companies.
