Commission investigates 13-company cartel in vitamin sector

Brussels, 12/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has initiated an investigation concerning an illegal agreement on the price of vitamins that is said to have been concluded between thirteen European and Japanese companies. It has therefore sent statements of objections to the companies concerned, among which Hoffmann-La Roche (Switzerland) and BASF (Germany), in which it sets out its suspicions concerning, more specifically, an illegal agreement in the vitamins A, C, D, and E...
