Brussels, 29/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - The 5th Energy Charter Conference assembled 51 European and Asian states along with Australia in Brussels on Thursday to review progress on implementation of the Charter.

The negotiators of the legally-binding Energy Charter Transit Protocol (petroleum, gas, electricity) for the 51 countries have identified certain obstacles but appear to have made sufficient progress to be in a position to conclude negotiations at the end of 2000 as planned. The aim...
