Ministers step up possibilities for catching anchovy in Bay of Biscay and put off till 2004 collection of economic data on fishing activities

Luxembourg, 16/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Fisheries Council approved the final TAC of 33,000 tonnes for anchovy fishing in the Bay of Biscay in the year 2000, with a volume of allowable catches at 3,300 tonnes for France and 29,700 for Spain, as proposed by the European Commission on the basis of recent scientific studies.
