Brussels, 16/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - Austrian Chancellor Wolfgang Schüssel is to make a visit to the European Commission on 12 July, in Brussels. The exchange of views will cover the main aspects of Community activity and the prospects of evolution, and will close with a luncheon. The Commission spokesman stressed that this meeting comes within the context of normal meetings between the European Commission and the heads of government of Member States. The Commission has never stopped normal working relations with the Austrian government in order to ensure the smooth running of the Union, and its door remains open to the authorities of all Member States, said the chancellor.
