Success of EP/Council conciliation on financial instrument "Life" - 640 million euro for 2000-2004 period

Brussels, 30/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Community's financial instrument in the field of the environment (LIFE) will have a budget of 640 million euro for the period 2000-2004, corresponding to the third stage of its implementation since its creation in 1992. The Parliament and Council managed to agree on this sum in the framework of the conciliation procedure aimed at bringing their points of view closer together.
