30/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has adopted the necessary proposals for including Greece in all EU regulations concerning the euro, in preparation for Greek entry into the single currency. It is proposing that the euro/drachma rate of conversion be set at 340.750 drachmas as at 1 January 2001. The European Parliament will be consulted very shortly, so that everything can be ready for the final decision by the Council, at the level of Heads of Government.
