The German group DISCOUNT BROKER CONSORS, Europe's number two on-line brokerage, is buying a controlling share of BEG -BERLINER EFFEKTENGESELLSCHAFT. CONSORS is initially offering to buy 16% of BEG's capital for EUR 37.4 a share. The total amount of the transaction is estimated at EUR 250 million. The group will also acquire a controlling share in BERLINER EFFEKTENBANK, specialised in investment and retail banking, in which BEG owns 40%.
