Commissioner Verheugen rejects allegations about delays in membership negotiations - Timetable for concluding talks could be established if sufficient progress is made by autumn

Brussels, 12/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - During his press conference on the occasion of the presentation of the new Commission communication and information strategy on enlargement (see yesterday's EUROPE, pp.10/11), Commissioner Günter Verheugen also said he was "very, very pleased" with the way the enlargement process was going, which, in his view, is moving forward even faster than initially foreseen.
