The Dutch cable operator UPC - UNITED PAN-EUROPE COMMUNICATIONS and Britain's NTL have made a joint bid for the Belgian counterpart TELENET, which offers telephone and fast cable Internet access services in Flanders. TELNET is also coveted by the American investment firm CALLAHAN ASSOCIATES INTERNATIONAL, which has offered between BEF 70 and 80 bn.
